NVIDIA’s Project DIGITS: The Personal AI Supercomputer

A $3,000 desktop powerhouse capable of handling 200-billion-parameter AI models is set to revolutionize AI development.

    • Compact AI Supercomputer: NVIDIA unveils Project DIGITS, a desktop-sized AI system with unparalleled power and accessibility.
    • Next-Level Performance: Powered by the GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, DIGITS delivers 1 petaflop of AI performance, redefining local AI development.
    • Seamless Integration: DIGITS supports local prototyping and cloud deployment, offering developers unmatched versatility.

NVIDIA has announced Project DIGITS, a personal AI supercomputer designed to put cutting-edge AI capabilities in the hands of developers, researchers, and students. Launching in May 2025, this compact, $3,000 system leverages the new GB10 Grace Blackwell Superchip, capable of running AI models with up to 200 billion parameters. With its standard power outlet compatibility and desktop-friendly size, Project DIGITS is poised to make AI development more accessible than ever.

    Unmatched Power and Versatility

At the heart of Project DIGITS is the GB10 Superchip, delivering up to 1 petaflop of AI performance at FP4 precision. This level of computing power, previously reserved for massive data centers, now fits on a desk. Each DIGITS unit comes equipped with 128GB of unified memory, 4TB of storage, and NVIDIA’s latest CUDA and Tensor cores, enabling seamless handling of large-scale AI models. For even greater capabilities, two DIGITS systems can link to manage 405-billion-parameter models, rivaling enterprise-scale systems.

    Designed for Developers and Researchers

DIGITS offers extensive support for AI workflows, running on a Linux-based NVIDIA DGX OS and compatible with popular frameworks like PyTorch, Python, and Jupyter notebooks. Developers can leverage NVIDIA’s NeMo framework for model fine-tuning and RAPIDS libraries to accelerate data science tasks. With an extensive library of pre-trained models and tools from the NVIDIA NGC catalog, users can quickly prototype, test, and deploy their AI solutions locally or in the cloud.

    Bridging Local and Cloud AI

What sets DIGITS apart is its seamless integration with NVIDIA’s enterprise-grade ecosystem. Developers can start by building models locally on DIGITS and later scale to cloud or data center environments using the same Grace Blackwell architecture. This flexibility allows for streamlined prototyping and deployment, bridging the gap between experimentation and production.

Affordable Innovation for the AI Age

Starting at $3,000, Project DIGITS democratizes access to AI supercomputing, making it a practical choice for individuals, startups, and educational institutions. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang emphasized its transformative potential: “Placing an AI supercomputer on the desks of every data scientist, AI researcher, and student empowers them to engage and shape the age of AI.”

With its unprecedented power, compact design, and versatile capabilities, Project DIGITS is set to redefine what’s possible in AI innovation. Available in May 2025, it promises to be a game-changer for developers and researchers worldwide.
